FCC Announces May 7 ‘Diversity Committee’ Meeting – Behold a New ‘Fairness’ Doctrine
On February 26, Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin – one of the myriad past “Fairness” Doctrine champions – sponsored an amendment, passed via a 57-41 Party-line vote, which forces the FCC to “take actions to encourage and promote diversity in communication media ownership and to ensure that broadcast station licenses are used in the public interest.”
Encourage and promote diversity? Hey here is an idea, how about we encourage and promote free speech, you know that pesky First Amendment? Just an idea to roll over and ponder in your mine. If you don’t like what’s on the radio turn it off, it’s simple really I call it “freedom of choice”. I do not wish to listen to ‘Air America’ so I don’t, I don’t want to watch MSNBC or CNN so I don’t, I don’t need the government to regulate that for me. I’m grown and I can choose for myself I had a mother that told me what to do and when to do it and I don’t need one now. But even more interest is that this so-called diversity panel has ZERO, count them ZERO conservative organization on it and again count them more than a dozen Loony Leftist groups. How’s that for diversity? How’s that for fairness? How’s that for equal representation? Can you say sham or would that be Oshama?
This administration is out of control in their efforts to seize as much control as possible and they need to be reeled in ASAP. As Thomas Jefferson once said “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” and that is exactly what they want, for you and others like you to remain silent and where is our voice most loudly heard? Talk Radio and they hate it.

I’m sure I’m like most citizens. When I hear the term “fairness” it means the opposite and that someone is going to get screwed. When I hear “diversity” it means quotas. When I hear “affirmative action” it means that we will trivialize minorities to the point where bigots can lump them into some category where they got something they didn’t deserve except for the color of their skin. “Fair share” means nothing of the sort. These politicians in congress have really underestimated what is going on and they’ll more than likely pay in 2010. The producers might be outnumbered by the takers, I’m not sure but we can’t continue down this path.
