This will be a short post because it is making my head explode, Obama today announces he is going to cut $100 million dollars from the budget or by 1/27,000.
One of the most egregious is from The Department of Homeland Security
The Department of Homeland Security estimates it can save up to $52 million over five years by purchasing office supplies in bulk. It also estimates it can save $3 million by ending consulting contracts to create new seals and logos.
Buying office supplies in bulk? We weren’t doing this already? What were they doing buy pens one at a time and paper by the sheet? Have they never heard of Sam’s Club or Costco? See why my head is exploding? They’re idiots. You know in your own life that if you want to save a few bucks you buy in bulk and our government doesn’t know this? My God are these people complete morons? They have to be there is no other excuse for this kind of ignorance.
They also can save $3 million by designing logos in house? What in all of the Department of Homeland Security there is no one that’s handy with Photoshop? Hell, I’ll design you’re logo for only $2.5 million a year.
Let put this in perspective, Obama is running around patting himself on the back about these “tough choices” and saying “We have an obligation to make sure that this government is as efficient as possible, and that every taxpayer dollar that is spent is being spent wisely.”
Here is what they are trying to sell you…
$100,000,000.00 amount being cut.
$3,600,000,000,000.00 amount of budget
$1,200,000,000,000.00 amount of deficit.

To put those numbers in perspective, imagine that the head of a household with annual spending of $100,000 called everyone in the family together to deal with a $34,000 budget shortfall. How much would he or she announce that spending had be cut? By $3 over the course of the year–approximately the cost of one latte at Starbucks. The other $33,997? We can put that on the family credit card and worry about it next year.
